Glad to see OKC's reporters on top of the trade front again. Oh wait ... And let's be honest, Malik Rose means nothing to Presti. He'll probably never get off the bench. Presti undoubtedly wants the "cash considerations" that are a part of the deal (how come you didn't mention that part of it?). He essentially gets the Knicks to pay the salary of a bench player for him. That's all this deal is about. Or he'll take that cash and pay Joe Smith to go away. Either way, Presti has taken a player who wouldn't have been here next year and turned it into a way to make money for the team. Toughness and defense? Yeah, right.

Rose brings toughness that is much needed but he is a Presti type of guy, and has one bit of experience no one on the thunder team have, that is being in the NBA Finals, winning a ring and being taught and lead under the leadership of future hall of famers David Robinson and coach Greg Popovich. He knows what it is to get to the top (Spurs) and knows what it takes to fall off (Knicks). No one on that rooster can compare to that.

Marc Stein just reported that the Rose for Wilcox deal is done. A minor deal in the grand scheme that trades offense and athleticism for defense and toughness -- both in the short run. Expiring deal for expiring deal. But anyone who followed the Hornets their first season in OKC will remember what Aaron Williams contributed to that team that was running out of gas -- toughness and defense. The Thunder needs both.
