About
I’ve worked as a librarian for many, many years. I’ve served in medical and university libraries, and now work at the State Library. I’m a librarian as opposed to the old stereotype of the book police since I believe in read and let read.
Personally, I read what I want to—including most popular fiction, mysteries, science fiction, romance, and non-fiction works on contemporary, political or controversial topics. (That’s probably a left over from being a political science major!)
I’ve lived in Oklahoma all my life, had a grandmother born here four years before statehood, and feel I’m about as Okie as you can get. I particularly like reading works by Oklahoma authors and find we have a robust and continuing literary heritage.
I read because it’s the trip that’s cheaper than driving the car. It’s something anyone can do (no dancing skills involved), it keeps you entertained at airports and on planes, and I would be totally lost without it.
So GO get that BOOK and tell me about it… I’m always looking for a good one.
Kitty
