Hmmm… Ebooks not as easy as I thought
I’m having problems getting my ebooks into the Nook when I download them from the Barnes and Noble website. I know it’s supposed to take awhile but it all seems to be on some mysterious timetable. And when you go back and try to download again, it says it’s already in your library (uh, no not really). I seem to have made books come and go at random. Not going to try to order and pay for anything until I can get the free stuff down.
And trying to sync my Adobe Digital Edition with my Nook is a nightmare. Obviously all the kinks are not worked out yet, or it may just be user error. I’m a tenacious person so I’m not defeated yet, but I can see this may be one of those toys that takes some work to get all the parts assembled.
Sigh….

Just bought a Nook too and had all my books downloaded and then there was an “upgrade” in the middle of the night 2 nights ago. It wiped out all my downloaded books. I am now having issues trying to get the books downloaded again. Should be easy right… hmmm… not….. Why would they do an upgrade 2 days after Christmas when people have just been give the Nook as a Christmas gift!
I have new NookColor. I am having no problems. I have downloaded free BN books, library books using Adobe, and some other free books and short stories. All without a hitch. You may need to look around on the nook and fond them, sometimes they appear in odd places.

Thanks for the comments, it is a little up and down getting to know this new way of reading a book, when before I could just open the cover. But my sis-in-law is happy and went into B&N and got help and downloaded books and all is well. I finally got most of my downloaded books to appear, since I’m a cheapskate and only did free books no harm no foul.
Thanks NookTalk for the suggestions about ADE I’ll try to put them into use soon.
I keep telling myself I can do this, but I’m still going to hang on to my stack of paper books just in case.(smile)
I had been on hold with Barnes & Noble Customer Service for almost 40 minutes, was transferred to someone who would help me with my Nook order which is now almost 24 hours old and no download, only to be put on hold for another 10 minutes. I gave up and e-mailed my problem.
This is the 2nd time I have waited almost 24 hours for a Nook book to process for download. Money is in my account, so what is the problem? Have only ordered 3 books from B&N in total.
1st 24 hour order was on Dec 21st. Ordered again last night at 12:34am, Jan 4, and it is still not ready for download.
My husband has a Kindle and has no problem getting his books. Mine was a gift from a relative, but am now ready to sell it and go get a Kindle. Anyone want a used Nook for $1.95?
