New Convention Center: Discuss Amongst Yourselves
Breaking story today about study suggesting up to $400 million be spent to build a new convention center. More coverage in tomorrow’s paper. So what do you think? Should this be the centerpiece of a MAPS 3? If so, when should it hit the ballots? Or should we simply stick with what we’ve got?

Coffee Talk Time - Uncertain Times Edition
Without getting too political here, it seems to me that with every presidential election one hears the party out of power describing the economy as being the “worst since the Depression.” And it also seems as if the information presented as journalism by the cable news networks is, shall we say, more aggressive and in-depth [...]
Coffee Talk Again
Sorry, but I’ve been swamped the past day or two so I’ve not had a chance to post. But you guys are just as informative as I am, so let’s do a little coffee talk again.
Today’s topic: What downtown streets, sidewalks and park areas should OKC look to if it should implement the plan proposed [...]
Wow… Is Monday Already Over?
OK, coffee talk time: should Oklahoma City approach Core to Shore as it did downtown in the 1960s - acquire the entire area, clear it and start again? Or is a more nuianced approach called for? Or should it leave the area’s fate to private developers and land owners?
A Broken Ride?

- Urban Neighbors, the [...]

3. My desk was a mess when I started my morning. I was a mess when I left.
4. I spent two minutes inside Red Prime.
5. I was pre-occupied all day with the [...]

The Myriad Gardens - What Would You Do With It?
OK, coffee talk time. The best posts involve you, the readers. You’ve traveled the world, or at the very least, you think you have because you’ve spent too much time either on the Internet or watching the Travel Channel.
So, what would you do to liven up the Myriad Gardens without diminishing the gardens?
I’ve long dreamed [...]
Shakey’s Pizza in Bricktown?
Well, sort of. When asking about what once belovedĀ restaurants should be brought back and reopened downtown, Shakey’s came up. I remember this old chain, and it was something special with its old time feel and jazz band music.
It just so happens that a year or so from now, we will be able to see [...]
Bring it Back Downtown?
I’m taking a couple days off, so let’s do some coffee talk, shall we? My question today is, if you could bring back one favorite restaurant from the past that no longer exists and reopen it downtown, what would it be? And what existing available space or location would you seek for it to get [...]
