Hub Cap Alley – Then and Now
My friend Will Hider once again proves himself to be an expert at finding obscure old photos – this time providing us a glimpse back at the 1100 S Robinson building that was featured in my story about Hub Cap Alley in Sunday’s Oklahoman.

Urban Renewal may soon have the record for destroying more businesses than Obamacare. They should just change the name to Urban Destruction. This was and is a needed enterprise that will soon be in the junkyard itself.
downtown. bricktown. midtown. uptown. packingtown. capitol hill. i look forward to the day when all the environs of oklahoma city inside grand boulevard are as viable as they were in 1940. what a city!
and no, i don’t have a problem with the other areas. there just wasn’t much outside of grand back in ’40. i suppose i should add britton to my wish list, as well.

Great article, Steve! Thanks for your research. We’ll have to follow up reserching the photos at the Oklahoma History Center. We’ve always been interested in the history of the building.
