Project180′s design will commemorate Clara Luper with a wayfinding medallion placed near the site of the former Katz Drug Store where the sit in occurred.

I think that would be an awesome idea. I totally agree that it would be an inspiration to so many. It would be tangible so that children could relate easier. Great idea!!!

Hard to believe that there isn’t even a “Clara Luper day”, let alone a monument, to commemorate a person who literally sat her way into local and national history.

You’d be surprised by the number of people that either forgot, or never even knew that Oklahoma too was down with the “Jim Crow” era; that similar efforts to desegregate places in the South had to be made here in our very state.

Whatever beautiful outlook there is in our state, and there is a lot of it, Clara Luper had a role, and it would be nice to see our local leaders make effort to give Clara Luper her proper due.
