Let me see if we’ve got this straight. So, if you’re
from out of town and you make fun of Oklahoma City and
then you come to the city, you get a River tour, some other
kind of thing and a steak. (Well done.) If you’re Jessica
Alba and you come to the city and do the shark/whale poster
graffiti whatever that thing was, that’s ok. And if you’re the guy who made fun of the city you get a welcome video
from the Mayor and a welcome from the governor, but
no governor for the President? Is that it?
Ms. Alba broke the law and she apologized (while investigated at some level, don’t think anything officially happened like being arrested/fined etc), but it definitely was not “ok”. With Mr. Barkley, we can get a lot more mileage out of it by “killing him with kindness” and showing him how wrong about the City/State he and others are. While Mr. Barkley promised to come to OKC apparently he was waiting for ESPN to pay for the trip. As far as the Gov Fallin not meeting Prez Obama (Mayor Cornett did), someone posted that Gov Henry didn’t meet Prez Bush one time either.
