I didnt catch it all and haveent seen the video myself (cant get the clips to play on my old computer), but they were saying something on the Twister this morning that it wasn’t that great…not that KD dissed OKC but he didn’t exactly come across as Chamber clip material either.

my impression was that he came across as genuine, and that he genuinely likes it here in oklahoma and plans to stay. he’s not a character (like charles barkley), but he’s got people loving him and he was showing the love our way.

That was great, Steve. KD is so very charming and cool and does our city proud.

I saw it over at Jennie’s blog (not sure why it worked for me there and not here but go figure) and she must have been looking at a completely different video than I or the folks on the Twister saw.

I agree he did come across as genuine and that he liked it here. He phrased it better before describing OKC as being relaxed and laid back rather than “small town” and giving the idea that OKC doesn’t have anything to do after the sun goes down. That the most exciting thing to do here is hang out at the Apple store type of stuff.

Fact is, if he wanted the lifestyle provided by a New York or LA etc he has the money to do that whenever he wants, could live or visit there in the off season etc (if he doesn’t get enough of it when playing in those places). As far as I can tell , he lives here year round (his Seattle house is up for sale) so he isnt just spoutting Chamber lines and he means it when he likes it here.

Durant is the quintessential “any press is good press” Oklahoma City spokesperson.
Every time he gets press like this, it’s positive for OKC.

So implying that there is little to nothing to do in OKC, esp after dark is “positive for OKC”? He’s bored and for something to do either hangs out at the mall or plays some flag football??? I guess I don’t get it.

And dont take that as a slam against Durant, I am just saying there was a much better way he could have phrased it (as he has in the past).

Maybe you think the press OKC got during the failed defacing of public property during a certain actress’s visit or the health campaign from a short while back were “positive for OKC”. Sorry I don’t buy the “any press is good press” line.

I wonder if he’s ever visited Durant.
Covering that story would be a dream come true.
They probably already have schools there named
after him.
