Great write-up on what’s become a wart on Bricktown, an empty lot of squandered opportunity amidst ridiculous plans of impractical grandeur. The “Staring Down the 800 Pound Elephant in the Room” two parter is similar but this specific property is a microcosm of the larger picture.
I would recommend the Peeling the Onion article as my second favorite, but I’d like to go a different direction for my second nomination, and that’s all the historic preservation work that you highlight. Al, you did it! Thank you so much. Especially the item “Peeling the Onion,” that one was definitely one of the stand-outs of the year. It gets so difficult to track this sort of thing after a year filled with so many topics. Can’t thank you enough for making this a far easier task than it would have been with me reading through a year of what I’ve written!
I refuse to pick just one.
