Sad commentary for such a fine old building. Too bad it wasn't foreclosed on so new owners could have been in place before now. If you have ever been in a malfunctioning elevator it can be a very unnerving experience. Glad Mr. Hefner has found a new home.

frankly, this sort of thing (along with the flipping in bricktown) makes me angry. if you don't have the money to finish a historic building that needs repair, don't buy it. the skirvin was frankly a miracle story, and it only survived because it was so prominent. first national was for a time the biggest skyscraper downtown, and it's going to take BIG money to keep it viable. look at it the other way; if this thing continues to go south, how would you ever tear it down? who could afford it?

note: i am assuming all free market solutions, no government involvement. other than bankruptcy.

As I recall, Milbank purchased this building back in the mid 2000's for a whopping $24mm. Jason Little and Tim Strange with Sperry Van Ness brokered the deal.To me, that seemed like a very small amount of money or such a large building. I remember touring the building with one of Milbank's agents looking at spaces. They had such grandiose plans to restore the place. Sad to see this isn't working out for them.
