This is terrible and wow really is missing the big picture. Once that lot is developed, it can't be developed again. It should be done well and tastefully and canal level parking isn't even close to tasteful.

Anyone who thinks you would have to walk 5 blocks carrying packages from a canal property hasn't ever been to Bricktown. Almost all Bricktown parking is within two blocks of Johnson's property, and there's plenty of it. I would be fine with this project sans parking. It's clearly an opportunity to make a quick buck. Johnson is already responsible for one of the least attractive parking lots in Bricktown. I'm not impressed with this one either.

It's fine and dandy that he's a successful businessman, but he has no experience in an urban setting and little vision for how he can develop the property successfully without essentially giving us yet another canal-adjacent parking lot.

I do like the look of the buildings, but there should be more of them and no parking at street level. I actually would have been satisfied if he cut the parking area in half and made the north half a second level of retail. At least then you would have no parking visible from the canal on that side.

Steve, there has been no mention that in the years he did not commit to the proposed plan in 2003. He has successfully owned and operated USA Screen Printing and Embroidery and has employed at least 40 to 50 employees at all times. The House of Bedlam retail store has a known name of producing and have some of the most unique apparel for OU, OSU, and Thunder. To say yet he had not built that proposed plan at least he is actually doing something finally in the open land that any of the people mentioned in your blog could have gladly bought the property and do something they want to do themselves.
Chris Johnson is doing great things for the entertainment district NOT JUST PARKING. Also we need to think when they build a mall they have to propose parking to get all of the cars they propose to have at their facility so it is convenient for there customers. I wouldn't want to park 5 blocks away to carry all of my merchandise back to my car. Just a though.
In this time of no hope in the economy and jobs are being lost daily we need to praise God someone is building and making opportunities for others.

Who is leading Bricktown right now anyway? Do they have any idea of what they want to be?
It's hard to believe that Bricktown Assoc. thinks this is a good idea. Steve have they come out in support or against this project?

So is this the bottom line? - it may not be built, but if it is, Bricktown gets yet another parking lot with a smidgen of retail tossed in. If so ... oh yea.
