Hello :) If I post a comment, will I be getting a bunch of email that I don’t want since I have to put an email address
on the comment thing?

Nope, post away without fear….

Wow. That took a long time for an answer. Kind of slow
this weekend I guess, huh? :) Well, anyway, how many words can we use? :)

I guess I was more patient waiting for a response than
the city council was waiting for Ed Shadid to get home. :)

Genghis, Larry is correct on the emails. I’ve been sick the past couple of days and was off the blog during that time. Welcome to OKC Central.

Well thanks very much! :) I’ve read your thing for a long time! :) Can we use HTML here? Also, what’s the word limit for a post here on your thing? Can a post be, let’s say, longer
than The Gettysburg Address but shorter than The Declaration of Independence? According to this editorial,
http://newsok.com/councilman-unrelenting-in-his-fight-against-oklahoma-city-convention-center/article/3589354
is around 250 words and the DofI is roughly 1,300.

Thanks again! :)

Not sure why HTML would be needed on a blog post comment. As for the Declaration of Independence and Gettysberg Address, I think both are fine documents. I’m not going to delve into what’s on the editorial page. I do question the logic of anyone assaulting an essay or opinion piece based on word counts. I personally prefer to read something that is well thought out and 2,000 words than a 250-word personal attack.

Well, I happen to like HTML so I was just wondering. So,
are you saying that you didn’t like the editorial either?
It wasn’t very nice was it? And so, there isn’t a word limit here on your thing? Because I can count and I know
most of my colors! :)

I’m not commenting on the editorial – there are plenty of others who can exchange thoughts on that matter and there has been a good discussion going on here at OKC Central and elsewhere. You were asking me about word counts, and that’s my friendly, honest response. Comments can be long or short.
As for HTML … you will likely find your comments getting caught up in the spam filter if you go that route. My recommendation – keep it simple.
My only rules are no personal attacks, no false impersonations and stay civil.

I reread your comment and I believe you said you prefer
something that is well thought out & 2,000 words so
since you didn’t give me a specific number, I’ll just
go with the 2,000 word thing. Right. Simple. Thanks so
much for your wonderful advice :)

1. Keep it Simple
2. Prefers 2,000 word well thought out thing instead of
a 250 word, oops, forgot the hyphen!, 250-word personal
attack.
3. Not commenting on the editorial.
4. Thinks DofI & The Gettysburg Address are both fine documents.

And I guess I need to apologize. I thought since you comment on city council things occasionally, that I wouldn’t be breaking any rules by mentioning it.
Do you have a list of rules about what can be said, how much
and when here on your thing? :)
I bet Abraham Lincoln will be happy to hear that!!! :)

Is he/she a spammer?

Don’t think so – they’re on Twitter. I’m a bit confused though…

I never was really a Paul Simon fan. He was so..I don’t know..kind of bordering on obsessive about his music.
Of course, a lot of people can be like that and it’s a good thing. Like artists. Picasso. He was a kind of a Don Quixote type, tilting at windmills and in fact, you know,
drew that Don Quixote thing. I had a print of it and took
it to be framed here locally but they lost it. I remember saying, “How could you lose it? It was pretty big” and she
said, “We just did.” And that was that. And so then she said
“Would you like something else?” and I said “No” and then
she gave me a credit and I never used it and they went out of business.

Can you please block GenghisDuck? The happy faces are making me sick to my stomach.

Genghis, welcome to OKC Central. Everything is cool. Matt, however, doesn’t like your happy faces.

Since this post is already off topic (if there was a topic). Whatever happened to the potential downtown round-table discussion that was being contemplated a month or two ago? That still going to happen?

Thanks for looking out for my interests, Steve. I look forward to GenghisDuck’s contributions. If they are anything like the last few days, it looks like we are all in for thought provoking posts.

Good question Brent. Yeah, let’s get that going. Let me make a couple of calls later today and see when we can do it next week.

Thanks Matt :) I’m still working on my post but I’m having to cut down the wordage. It was/is over 3,000 words.
And I’m making it simpler :) And I feel very flattered that you think my posts are thought provoking! Which one was the
most thought provoking so far? The Paul Simon one? :)

Genghis, I haven’t had this much anticipation for a comment on OKC Central since Mike Morgan shared his thoughts on weather forecasting and the news.

Well I always look forward to your comments Steve :)
What is everyone looking forward to you commenting about? :)

Well that’s great Steve :) I know that I always look forward
to your comments! What are they waiting for you to comment on? Don’t they know you’ve been sick?

:) :):):):):):):):):):):)

this reminds me of that episode on “nip/tuck” where they had the actor who was addicted to plastic surgery. or the video to “black hole sun.”
