A Rant Some of You Won’t Like
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
I’m upset. Driving this afternoon, I saw a cat hit by a car. The cat had a collar, was clearly someone’s pet. I’m not someone who thinks it’s cool to leave your dog or cat outside all day. Don’t agree with me? Keep reading.
What I saw ruined my day – and ruined the day of that cat, and its owners. The cat stumbled around. The cat tried to limp across the street. As I tried to find a place to stop and help, it collapsed (another driver pulled over, went to its aid, and it did appear as if the cat had died).
If you have a pet, do your best to keep them safe at home. And if you’re the type who thinks it’s totally cool to let your pet roam loose, let this imagery burn in your skull.
Rant is over. But I’m still upset.

No kidding! It is so frustrating. Try driving through my neighbor without seeing a dog that the owner let get out.
I can’t take my dog on walks anymore because every time I do, we’ll have two or three dogs run at us barking. Ugh #RantOver
We have a family next door who lets their dog do whatever the hell it wants and it pisses me off to the max! It runs around the neighborhood barking at people and scaring kids who want to play outside… We have called animals control 3 TIMES and they still haven’t made it out here.. Really aggravating.
Sorry about what you witnessed Steve. No one needs to and no one should have to see that ever!
Dustin, use a cell phone camera and video it running around every single time you see it. As a video guy, moving images have more impact than words. If you see it scaring kids, that’s all the proof you need.
I hit a dog with my car one time. In addition to killing the dog and upsetting my young son that was with me – it did over $500 damage to the car that had to come out of my pocket. I only wish the dog had a collar so I could send the owner the bill.
Steve- Thanks for your thoughts! Although a sad event, it is of comfort to know that there are people with compassion.
There are no bad pets. Only bad owners. Pets act upon instinct and humans on conscious thought. Many times instict is the better way.

Aw, that is just too bad. I wish people would be responsible. Poor kitty….stupid owners.
