Giving Credit Where Credit is Due: Thunder Edition
For the past several weeks there has been a rather intense effort to get Ellen DeGeneres to come to Oklahoma City and be “a Thunder girl.” Last week we saw a flash mob request that followed a rather successful creation of a Facebook fan page. Enter into the game the messager-in-chief of OKC, Mayor Mick Cornett:

Do you possibly have a copy of the tweet or whatever it’s called that Mayor Mick may have sent? I’d love to see it for inclusion in my related blog post. If it was the mayor that actually sent, this could represent a change of his perspective … and that would be a good thing, as far as I’m concerned.
Never mind. Just found it … Mayor Mick’s Facebook page. Video and everything.
Anything/anyone can change. Props to the mayor.
What perspective is that? Cornett has appeared on Ellen’s show before (promoting the This City is Going on a Diet). This was sometime after his Library book episode when he was running for the US House a few years back.
I caught the last few seconds of it on Ellen (just enough to see it was about the Thunder) but hadn’t heard anything more until now.
and Ellen joking about it would all depend on what the Mavs counter with (who gets her the best gift or something like that).
I’ll bet she dances better than you H2o. Ellen has a lot of fans out there who would love to see her cheering on their home team.

Love it! Like Mick or not, it is nice having a PR guy as Mayor. He gets this stuff.
