MidTown Housing Live Blogging: Richard Tanenbaum
Richard and Stephen Tanenbaum making their pitch. Pretty sure this is the last one. Not seeing any hint of Home Creations doing a pitch.
Stephen says target demographic is ages 18-34, $50,000 income. Adds students from OCU, employees at hospitals, Devon, downtown.
“They are young men and women who work at MidTown businesses and restaurants. They also need a place to live.”
MidTown needs density, he says, as he explains lack of retail.
Legacy and Sieber have office, retail space not leased out…
MidTown still not ready for traditional retailer….
“This is not a good use of our energy and resources.”
Blair Humphreys just sent this message out on Twitter; I have reason to believe he’s talking about the Brooks/Henderson proposal – “Urban Renewal’s decision on the Old Mercy site won’t be made today, but after seeing the presentations it is a pretty easy decision to make.”
Richard Tanenbaum has not communicated with nearby church, school. Not planning roof-top amenities due to perceived zoning restriction – a restriction JoeVan Bullard says doesn’t actually exist.
