since this is central oklahoma, the climbing tower should feature red rocks. hey, maybe we could decorate the area with rose rocks, redbuds, scissortail flycatchers, and horny toads!

I would want the center of one park to be something fun,exciting, unusual, something no other city has.
The largest possible artificial rock formation you could build.
The rock formation is just the shell covering for anything you want to build inside like water slides, waterfalls, restaurants, small train ride, ancient cave art on the inside ceilings and walls, you can build the structure from the inside out because the rock shell can be shaped to cover anything under it.
Waterfalls on the exterior would create pools of water at the base which would be good gathering places, rock climbing, repelling, on the sides, restaurant on top with open air dinning, small pool of water on top could overflow down the side for a waterfall.

we definitely need more public beach volleyball courts in OKC. with lights. mesta is nice for this, but not after dark.

Steve, this is a great and relatively inexpensive idea.

Kurt, OKC has a thriving kickball league that’s organized through the World Adult Kickball Association. Although the games are held at Lake Hefner and not downtown, it draws hundreds of young OKCers out on Wednesday nights. Our league starts next week.

An Urban Basketball court(s) could be placed almost anywhere in Downtown. It could be at a park, or on Corporate grounds, like the new Sand Ridge campus.

The Thunder could easily come in as a Corporate partner. In fact, the Thunder could, and should, partner with OKC Parks and Rec. to build courts in the parks of troubled neighborhoods, like North Highlands and Pink Park. They could supply quality BBall goals and nets. And host mini-camps with Thunder players. This could be a great partnership.

We should present a plan to OCURA, figure out which lot they would let us have in the downtown core, as a gesture of their goodwill, and raise funds to make this happen.
