I was hoping there would be money to do this. “Opening Night” people, are you paying attention? This should be the centerpiece for the countdown to midnight on New Years Eve. Dump the PVC pipe wrapped in Chrismas lights ball, for a fancy crystal one (perhaps Devon could help once again) and have it rise from a spot at the end of the crystal bridge – all while the bridge itself is doing some wild light show. You could have lazers going from each end, etc – a real attention getter.
Instead of the crowd waiting in the street the gathering place would be the gardens itself. People watching outside, perhaps a swanky banquet or dance going on inside the bridge- people could watch the show from inside also!
This one feature, used properly could change OKC’s celebration from run of the mill to a destination party that people around the region would come to see.
Make it happen “Opening Night”!
