Quite urban. Quite striking. A great architectural statement for the Deep Deuce area. Thanks, as always, for sharing.

But, Steve, are you trying to tell us something by categorizing this under Asian District? ;-)

Nope, just a typo.

Yeah, figured. Those blog tags can drive a person crazy!

This looks like bad seventies architecture with a total lack of eloquence and proportion.

Wow, that’s fantastic. Unique. Modern. It will make a statement.

Awesome, nice addition to downtown – Is the “swoop roof” up there somewhere?

Not impressed at all. The original renderings looked much better. Probably available here in Steve’s blog somewhere, but also over at OKCTalk, first page, think its post #10 http://www.okctalk.com/showthread.php?t=22220&page=1

Yeah, I have to say that I was hoping for something more along the lines of what Tallahassee has.

Awesome! I like this a lot better then the first rendering

It’s pretty cool, I guess. Couple fears:

1. it’s awfully white considering the level apts are going to be nearly all white as well.

2. Are they incorporating a bunch of eifs?

Larry OKC, your link doesn’t work.

I haven’t seen the first renderings so I guess I can’t comment whether this has been value engineered a lot. I think it looks pretty good. I certainly don’t see seventies architecture in it.

Proud to have this welcome addition to Oklahoma City’s downtown. Naysayers … get some money and spend it downtown or get a life.

Matt, not sure (the link still works for me but may be machine specific). Pretty sure Steve had pics here in his blog as well, maybe he can help.

Hope it will have the same amount of rooms or more adding to the growing demand as more people are making OKC a vacation destination. Had a look at the original plan, thanks to Gary, I have to say the styles are definately dfferent.

We are excited about this project. From original design to this you will notice the following:
- Same overall design
- ALOFT swoof signature roof added
- Outside material identified (granite on lower levels, glass, concrete, MOZ metals,… No EIFS)

It is an Urban / Contemporary building and fit the area in style and function – also its an ALOFT. From side walk cafe, WXYZ bar, restaurants, and urban market to an Artist Corner that will feature a different local artist every month this will add character and feel to that market.

Larry, it looks pretty much the same as the original rendering, except they added the trademark “swoop roof” that some have mentioned. There’s also less color but I’m not sure if that’s just due to the different type of rendering.

jbrown, sorry but I’m just not seeing the similarities. Don’t have a problem with the addition of the “swoop”, looks like balconies and some of the exterior archetictural (sp) details are now missing. Seems much “plainer”. Neither is exactly my style, but definitely prefer the original.

Unfortunately, my impression is that it is like a much-older parking garage on 5th (I think). Don’t mean to cut it down, but…

Architecture is very sofisticated. Also very functional.
