Is there Something Wrong With This Picture?

The photo is from Project 180, and this question doesn’t reflect at all on Project 180. Instead, it’s simply an aerial or elevated view of downtown we don’t usually get to see.
Let the guesses begin.

Too many surface parking lots for downtown.

They are redoing streets in front of mostly surface parking lots?

Too many parking lots on prime real estate close to downtown?

…wind-swept parking lots? Im bad at these games.

Those with claustrophobia would be wise to avoid working in the part of the building in the foreground that is inexplicably without windows.

I think there is a “5320″ sign down on the corner by the stop light. TO ARMS TO ARMS!!! Call out the National Guard! Or maybe that is a Sandridge guy taking down an unused port-a-potty next to that dilapidated building in the middle. Quick, get him!!! J/K

Agreed about parking- and the fact that it is “Main Street” makes it even more ironic.

Parking lots. Regardless if that’s the real answer or not. No one can deny that those parking lots are under-utilized and not to mention plain UGLY in comparison to what that prime land could be used for. Especially considering that is Oklahoma City’s Main street, and some of those lots front up against BOTH our Civic Center/City Hall circle AND Main.

Was this photo taken from somewhere within the new Devon complex? Like maybe from a crane? Because I’m not sure otherwise how one could get only the tip-top of the Hightower building and nothing more unless one was suspended in mid-air.

My vote is for Gary’s comment!

surface lots..too many in prime real estate areas

Too far north for Devon complex. Looks like it was probably taken from Oklahoma Tower.

There are no buildings in downtown.

OK, Steve, we give. What’s wrong with the picture?

It really is too bad… would love to see 6-12 sotry buildings in each one of those parking lots.

Taken from the top of Oklahoma Tower…?

What’s funny is that’s probably one of the denser collection of blocks in all of downtown. I mean, even the middle of Bricktown has at least that much surface parking.

I got it….the base flanges of the fire hydrants aren’t at grade. Mystery solved…..or forgotten(?)

tough room…LOL

There’s no New Convention Center Coming Soon sign? (despite there being way more than enough room for a cc to go there)

OK Steve, are you going to answer the question?
