Crescent Market Coming to Downtown?

Ah, wouldn’t it be nice for the city’s oldest grocery (started in 1889) to return to its roots? The rumor is out there. And it wasn’t without some basis. But after doing some digging, I’m not convinced it’s going to happen. But I can share that the odds of downtown getting a grocery store are better than they’ve been so far. Don’t be surprised if we see something announced later this year.

If Whole Foods comes in and Chesapeake closes the south half of Nichols Hills Plaza, Crescent Market will have to move somewhere. To follow up on Tim’s comment, Crescent Market does have some high priced items that would need the right area.
How about Walgreens and Braums as food sources?

Crescent Market in downtown? Awesome. I can’t wait to pay $20 for a $5 jar of peanut butter.
