Russian Sam is Coming to Downtown Tulsa

After Ilia finished his downtown OKC model, he started work on one based on downtown Tulsa. On Friday he is traveling with Dennis Wells to see the real thing. Folks associated with OKC Talk can feel free to post this on the board’s Tulsa section (I’ve stopped doing updates on OKC Talk after getting the impression from longtime forum members like Steve Newlon that such posts are not welcome).  OKC Talk, by the way, is a wonderful site that served as a critical beginning of conversations between Ilia and locals.

I am really sorry that a few people have to ruin it for the rest. Here’s hoping you change your mind.. I know I really enjoy your your comments and insights.

i think 99% of people appreciated the posts, Steve. Don’t be such a drama queen.

You know how Tulsa has the little brother thing going. Anything OKC is trash when you ask a Tulsan.

You’ve done a great job reporting on this, Steve, both here, in the Oklahoman, and at OkcTalk (pay no attention to the few nay-sayers there, and please keep on posting on this topic there, as well as here).

But, the great superlative doesn’t begin with the reporting. It begins with your role in making it happen in the first place.

Hats off, all the way around.

Not saying the comments at OKC Talk were good or bad – just that I’ve limited updates to OKC Central in response to feedback at OKC Talk. If my impression of what was being said is wrong, just let me know. Forums can really send out some very mixed signals…

Steve, for what it may be worth, most nay-sayers at any forum tend to be naysayers in general. Without even looking, I’s be tempted to place an even money bet that your nay0sayers are also doing the same for other posters on unrelated topics. Some people are simply happiest when they aren’t, so they strive to bring others down with them.

Ignore them. It works wonders more than it fails.
