As Doug pointed out over at OKCTalk, it was in response to the reporters Tea Party question.

Steve, I hadn&#039;t noticed the Mayor bringing it up before specifically during a campaign, seems he would mention &quot;conservative&quot; (which usually gets translated in the minds of most as being Republican).]]></description>

If one looks to Tulsa, or across the street at the county, one can easily see that being a Republican or Democrat has NOTHING to do with Oklahoma City&#039;s success. In past publicity his aide has responded it was the reporter, not the mayor, bringing it up.
