Kris, you are correct. We will not have an absolute final route until probably the first quarter of next year. The information gathering still continues.

I will say that it is the hope of most involved that we are able to identify some key streets and rule out streets that we will not be on. In that way, we may be able to coordinate more effectively with Project 180.

The Hub Study proposal was approved today by the Maps Oversight Board and will go to council for final approval at the next meeting. That should enable the study to be completed in conjunction with the final determinations regarding streetcar routes next year.

The approval of going forward with the convention center location consultant also went forward and will potentially complete about the time the Hub Study concludes.

So folks, progress is happening and people's input has plenty of time to be considered. Try to attend the evening meeting if you can.

I asked that same question at the meeting today. The response was that the process of input has only just begun and that definitive decisions are not being made at this point. For example, the four routes proposed at the end of the Let's Talk Transit meetings represented an initial synthesis of ideas, but by no means are they the "final four" routes being considered.

Taking input, considering it and not using it is different than being ignored. Just because someone doesn't use an idea after evaluating it doesn't mean it wasn't considered.

I keep hearing that the input from these meeting has been consistently ignored, which would make going to one pretty pointless. Does anyone have any other input or thoughts on this? I would love- and would hope- to be wrong
