Along with a variety of other Oklahoma destinations…

“The original Sooner landrun” ?? Talk about a history flack.

But that’s great. “Bricktown, Now With More Kitsch!”

Sometimes wonder if these articles have been written by someone that has actually been here or not. When they get details like the Land Run Monument wrong (the statues are not scattered throughout Bricktown). Maybe they were thinking about the painted buffalo that were scattered but have mostly been relocated into one area. Remember when the painted buffalo were put up, it was a sort of scavenger hunt to find all of them. Great tourist draw that was fun for locals too.

But at least Bricktown is mentioned. Unlike our own (primarily used by tourists) Riverboat Cruises which don’t even mention Bricktown during the cruise or have pamphlets available (as Steve pointed out in an excellent article in Sunday’s Oklahoman).
