Happy Monday!

I’m taking a vacation day today. I’ve got a lot of topics stored up to introduce this week. So consider this another opportunity for coffee talk. Which downtown developer do you think best represents the future for our central city?

I would love to say Humphreys, but I have a nagging feeling it’s more like Ideal Homes.

Anyone who is brave enough to withstand dissenting views from this blog.

I would also like to say the Humphreys. Even though we haven’t seen much from them, their plans and ambitions for Downtown and also the Airpark are wonderful and urban at that. I wish thE Flatiron would get off the ground however.

I think we have a handful to put in there but I would like to hold off on crowning any one until we come out of the economic downturn and see who gets the ball rolling first!

Humphreys hold our biggest hope although I’m sure the City or Urban Renewal will allow us to screw it up as usual.

Right now it’s Steve Mason..the only one doing anything. In the future, probably the Humphreys family. That’s hopefully, though..

Is this a trick question?

Not many downtown active developers that I can think of.

I am going with Larry Nichols, Devon Energy.

Moshe Tal.

I do hope it will be someone that hasn’t come forward as of yet. Because if all of “the regulars” are the options, then downtown development will be slow.

That is not intended to be a knock at anyone, but I do believe that we need someone new, possibly an “outsider”, with very very deep pockets.

Oesman Sapta!
