The gravel parking lot is actually a temporary parking lot for the construction workers building the Devon Tower. It was only enclosed and covered with gravel within the past couple of months.
That aint gonna be the site of the downtown elementary. I see a lot of retail potential in that site though.
The downtown school thought brought up an interesting comment made in the ULI presentation about a school for people who work downtown to have a place to take their kids (rather than the current system where what school district your kids are in is based on where you live, not work).
Nick does see retail everywhere . . . it’s a wonder he doesn’t put his money where his mouth is . . . according to him, he’s missing out on megabucks.
I believe that lot is the site planned for the relocated City Arts Center, which will be more of a contemporary art museum but also retain the educational component.

That big patch of open area is actually a gravel parking lot. I noticed this when I went downtown a few times last weekend. Obviously the aerial photo is old. I think that would be the perfect location for a new residential high rise
