The model was on display for years in the lobby of one of the Civic Center buildings. I remember seeing it as a kid in the 70′s and being fascinated by it– wondering when the many newly vacant lots nearby were going to get built back up.

That’s very cool Steve. Even if Pei’s planning theories were terribally flawed, he was a brilliant man. Enough of the model was built in real life and it would be exciting to see and be reminded of the complete “vision.”
