New Feature: Favorites
With downtown continuing to evolve, it’s important to note there are a lot of newcomers who don’t know all the inside secrets about great housing, restaurants, shops and activities.
So here’s what I’m launching, and no, it’s not one of those advertising-sponsored special sections (not that there’s anything wrong with that – I like to get a paycheck and God bless our friends in advertising for helping make that happen).
So here are the rules: I’ll set up a favorites topic every Thursday. To avoid manipulation by business owners, I will only accept responses and comments provided with a real name attached. The business with the most favorable response will then be featured in the next week’s “favorites” post, along with a new question.
So, here we go… what is your favorite downtown apartments for rent that run below $800 a month?
Thank you for joining our conversation on OKC Central. We encourage your discussion but ask that you stay within the bounds of our commenting and posting policy.

Let’s find out Casey. I’m betting there are more. Remember this doesn’t apply to the size of a property. This includes duplexes, six-unit second floor operations, etc.
Park Harvey did (at least 18 months ago) have a studio for under 800. I think it was 790 with bills paid. The only other places I looked are where Casey mentioned.
Of the three my favorite was Park Harvey.
I liked it being a non-traditional style apartment & how close you were to everything.
If I hadn’t ended up with a job in Edmond I’d probably be living there now.
When I went downtown apartment shopping before I decided to room with a friend in the Village, I looked at several – and was really impressed with the options overall. Park Harvey and the Regency were high on the list…But I also was very impressed with the Montgomery. They had a smaller unit that if I remember correctly would have been around $800 or a touch less. Lovely layout, cool old building, and an awesome Italian restaurant on the first floor. Not to mention walking distance to the Civic Center, and the art museum. So, had I actually signed a lease, it probably would have been there…
I came “that” close to renting at the regency, but I found a better deal in J-Park that I couldn’t turn down.
About this “smaller properties”…care to fill me in?

Aren’t there only two possibilities? Deep Deuce and Regency? I don’t think Park Harvey has any for $800 or less but maybe a studio on the bottom 2-5 floors…I don’t remember.
After I went searching and had my price range figured out, I found that I could stay in a studio in Park Harvey on the bottom floors, a one-bedroom 2nd/3rd floor at Deep Deuce or 15th to 17th floor one bedroom with balcony at Regency…I chose Regency and still recommend it.
