This place seriously needs a trained wait staff. Just went there for a birthday lunch. One of the ladies in our party ordered a two piece dinner; she was served two very scrawney pieces and when she complained to the waitress, she was told, "Just trade with someone else". The ...waitress refilled one glass, but ignored another that was set down in front of her for a refill. A waiter came around and asked how everything was, and immediately walked off, before anyone could comment. The same waiter was asked for lids for three drinks, brought two and walked off to another table. We had to yell to get his attention. Not impressed at all. Two people in our party got sick within an hour after leaving. Definitely the last time for this place!!See More

I went with a downtown business owner for lunch at Roosters to check it out for ourselves. The folks there were nice, but ...
First observation - chicken, okra and french fries do not make for a full fledged restaurant (there wasn't even a menu). Second observation - we both got sick later in the day. Person I was with has had an uncanny knack for predicting the timing of when downtown restaurants will die (he was dead on with Othello's and Al Eschback's). This businessman, with more than 20 years experience downtown, suggests Roosters will be gone by summer.

I think Bolero is a cool restaurant, definitely a good niche for OKC but ( having lived in Spain and being a "tapas bar snob") it kinda upsets me that it labels itself a tapas bar...it in no way resembles any of the thousands of tapas bars in Spain. They are known for being cheap little hole-in-the-walls, a far cry from the $6-$9 beer offered at Bolero.

I do think it's a cool hangout and b/c I love sangria, I go there more often than I thought I would when it first opened. That's just my 2 cents though.

Bolero is in NO way done, my girlfriend is the new "head manager," wouldn't call her the GM b/c they don't like using titles anymore. But since some people have left it has really turned around. believe me she is workin her butt off to make that the best place it can be!
