“Redneck Venice”

Hearing through Twitter that during his comedy concert here, Robin Williams referred to the Bricktown Canal as Redneck Venice.
I immediately took great offense upon hearing this as I strolled past Bass Pro Shops, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill, Sonic and Hooters.

absolutely. haha!

(See any noodlers during your stroll?)

Everyone is a comedian!!!

You would probably get ticketed if you tried noodling in the canal. Just a guess though.

I always thought that bass boats were kind of a modern gondola.

One of those lines I wish I had thought of…Could be a funny marketing schtick actually.

Very Funny!
Now throw in some Jeff Foxworthy opera and we’re there!

On noodlin’ at the canal.

A couple years back, spouse and I were at south end of canal. Two lasses walking along. One stops the other, they lean down to the edge and first lass plunges hand and arm in and comes back out with a small fish. Other lass near fainted.

We laughed about it quite a while.

New retail on the canal: “Okie Noodlers Supply Co. LTD”… do-rags, muscle shirts, cheap cigars, noodling videos, & etc.
I want a REDNECK VENICE t-shirt & hat right now!

At this very moment I’m sure there is at least one merchant extremely troubled by this. His civic pride says “this title must disappear immediately” while his entrepreneural side is trying to figure out how many t-shirts to order.

LOL Gotta love it, as Steve suggested, not much different than the “Official Cow Tipping” stuff after Charles Barkley’s comment on OKC (sold at the Will Rogers Airport). Embrace and capitalize on what could be a negative stereotype. Turn it into a positive! Have some fun with this stuff…

Sorry, should be “LOL” (hope that extra “O” doesn’t make it offensive somehow)

I love it!

Besides, it is about time the Canal had a name. Surprised they never got around to some corporate naming rights

At least somebody’s talking about okc!
