Interesting conversation I started on OKCTalk years ago. Anyhow I do agree with the above posters, it's got to leave a bad taste in the mouth for out of state visitors with a HUGE disappointment. I think Jim and Bricktown Association should petition City Council to pass some sort of ordinance or something restricting the use of the "Bricktown" name to a business located in a certain area.

It's worth mentioning, though, that Bricktown Financial started in the district, in the JDM Building, and moved to a new location after a number of years in Bricktown.

My job calls for me to deal every day with visitors in Bricktown. I can tell you that every day you could find someone here who booked a hotel room online because it had "Bricktown" in the name, and is HIGHLY disappointed when they find that there are literally half a dozen wonderful hotels walkable to the district, two of them actually in Bricktown... ...and theirs is not one of them. Universally, they feel like they have been defrauded in some way. It's a black eye for the visitor experience in Oklahoma City.

All great points that I agree with!
Anyone have any idea what can be done about it? How does Bricktown prevent someone from booking a room, thinking they are staying in Bricktown, then finding out they are in an industrial park?

I'd be pretty disappointed if I booked a room in the hotel in the first picture, thinking I was staying in Bricktown. It would leave a bad taste in my mouth for OKC when I left.

None of them are in the area zoned Bricktown Core. In fact, some are a mile away from the zoning classification.
