He reminds us of the primitive needs for aesthetics, comfort, and safety as it relates to urban design and planning. I think this is the core issue of why the suburbs are not cutting it. People are tired of hiding behind their cars, garages, and acreages. Community is the buzz-word of the decade. I like how Mr. Speck addresses the psychological issues related to walkability.
