Brix – No New Windows Yet

Still no word on whether the upper windows will be restored, but the paint job is apparently complete at the new Brix. Thoughts?

I like the color. I think it is bold enough to stand out from the other buildings a little but still doesn’t completely go off the reservation to undermine the integrity of the style of the building. Are there still plans to put in the new windows? That would make a huge difference.

Where is this building located? It looks intriguing.

I walked by there the other day….saw some over-spray of the red on the tan part at the top…..are they done? Or are they gonna paint the top? Really hope something is going to be done about the windows.

It looks nice but windows would look even better.

Dane, it is located in Bricktown on the northside of Sheridan between Abuelo’s and Bricktown Brewery. It is where the old Daiquiri Zone used to be.

Steve, any before and after photos of the paintjob? Also do the owners of Brix own the entire building? Or are they just leasing? I imagine they wouldn’t replace top windows if they are only leasing the ground floor. I was under the impression that Jeff Moore actually owned the building and a couple former athletes are doing Brix.

The Brix restaurant guys are just leasing the first floor and it should be noted they’ve footed the bill for the paint job and improvements. Jeff Moore owns the building and previously indicated he’s considering installing windows in the second and third floors.
There are no athletes, to my knowledge, involved with Brix.

I believe there was talk of having a small patio facing the street, is that still going to happen?

“Considering” putting windows in place of plywood? That’s sad that replacing windows is optional in OKC’s premier tourism destination.

Steve, if you ever want to light a fire under someone, Jeff Moore could use some heat. The Bricktown Block/or Square, whatever it is called, is borderline dilapidated, and needs some focus and attention. The Sherman building, going unused, is virtually an urban crime of adaptive non-use.

It looks like to me that Brix is going beyond what is asked of a new tenant. The new paint job really improves the look of the building. Windows would do even more. They have also shown a creative touch in how they have developed the front part into a covered patio.
It’s good to see that space being put to use.

Just FYI – I wasn’t mean to light a fire or invite criticism of anybody. Clearly the Brix guys have gone above and beyond. Just asking whether anyone thinks the building owners should match the effort by putting back in windows.

And I’ll answer with a resounding YES!

I could not believe what we paid for such medioker food. $10 for a chicken breast, 1/4 of a cob of corn and 5 pieces of okra and that’s just my husbands meal. I could have gotten a better salad from mcdonalds for half the price. The picture in the menu makes your salads look gourmet, little did I know. The kids meals were a bit pricy but their main courses were ok, it’s the cup of store bought peaches that was the insult. I send those in their school lunches. It’s not what was expected from a nice resturant in bricktown. A bowl of fresh fruit would have been more suitable. It reminded me of a kids meal from Wendys. Too bad, this place could really be something.
