Good job on your quest for fitness! I agree more downtown restaurants and OKC restaurants in general could be more health conscious. Next time you need a story lead, we can meet at the downtown Y.

One useful restaurant site for WW is http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html. Although it won't have anything on the unique Bricktown restaurants, most of your chain restaurants are covered here, including Starbucks, Sonic, McDonald's, Chilis, etc. Good luck Steve.

I am a fellow weight watcher who "walked" it off. I eat 90% of my meals in restaurants and everyone said I would never be able to lose weight without eating healthier "at home". Well, I walked 20 minutes every morning and 20 minutes every evening and in 4 months was at my goal weight. I also travel to OKC pretty often, so I look forward to your "finds" of good food downtown!! In the meantime, just look at your watch and walk for 10-15 minutes in one direction, before turning around and heading back....sounds too good to be true, eh? But it works! Happy trails!

Steve,
I wish you the best on your quest to get fit. Losing weight can be tough, but it is possible and definitely worth it. I believe that eating out is the easiest way to gain weight, especially if you are not careful. If I go to a restaurant and do not know the nutritional information ahead of time, here are some things to avoid: creamy stuff, cheese, red meat, fried foods.

Many chain restauants post their nutritional information on their website. A good website for those restaurants that do not post their nutritional info is dietfacts.com. This is a website that gets nutrition info on their own. But again, it's mostly for chain places, and not for something like Cheevers.

Good luck1
