I'd love to get a message to Carolyn Hill! The b&w photo contains an image of a classmate when Ms. Hill taught us in the 1970s at UNIS in NYC. I googled the name of that student, and it led to her meeting her birth family in Singapore for the first time, last week!

Steve,
My first years of teaching high school choral music (1955-58) was at Central High School in Oklahoma City and Carolyn was an outstanding vocal music student in my choir. I am not surprised of the accomplishments you noted in your column. I am most proud of her Oklahoma City accomplishment, "The Oklahoma City Art Museum." She truly is a gifted leader in our community.

Please send her my e-mail so I may contact her again.

Donald, call Leslie Spears at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and she can provide you an update that I simply can not get into here online.

I am an old friend of Carolyn's from New York. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years. The picture you have of Carolyn (I was there, btw) with Marilyn Horne, Rex Reed, & Arlene Dahl, the man on the right is my voice teacher, the late Jack Harrold (he taught at OU for a number of years) - a dear and old friend of Carolyn's. Anyway, please pass this note on to her and tell her to email me. I would love to renew our friendship. I am also not surprised at what she did at the museum - she was always so incredibly competant.

Such a good article about the woman at the helm of our Oklahoma City Museum of Art. I will think of Carolyn Hill each time I step inside the museum.:)

Hey Steve! Carolyn loves the story and so do I! You do such excellent work. It was so fitting for you to write it since you were doing the city beat when the purchase of the Centre Theatre took place. Thanks for all the great comments too from your readers. She's been an amazing woman to work for and learn from. And yes, that is Arlene Dahl and Rex Reed. Leslie Spears, Communications Manager, OKC Museum of Art.

Thanks for doing this story, Steve. Yes, if there is anybody who is deserving of a profile like this, it's Carolyn Hill. I certainly hope more Carolyn Hills show up in OKC; inspiring people to think higher and on a larger scale is something that needs to happen more often in OKC.

What an impressive lady!
Great Story, did you do an video on this? You know another angle on the video is the role it could play in History. Could you imagine if people 20 years from now could see stories like this on video? It could help people better understand how and why things happened.

Steve, great story. I can't think of anyone more deserving of such accolades. I've had the good fortune of some association with Carolyn Hill and everytime I leave a meeting with her, I feel uplifted, inspired and even wiser, for getting the chance to experience some time with her. This city is very much in her debt.
