Actually, I spoke with Mr Claybourne on Thursday. There’s apparently another tenant who wants to fill that space. He still had 3 years left on his lease, but is looking to retire, and so hopped on the chance to get out.

Steve,

Interestingly,a downtown men’s clothier is thriving right across the street from this location.

Teena Hicks recently expanded her store on the 2nd floor of the Oklahoma Tower. Teena and her son, James, have been there for years working hard, providing an attractive selection, and making it through thick and thin.

Downtown retail is not easy — but it does have its success stories!

Good point Kirk. I’m not convinced this is a reflection on downtown retail. The name of this store itself might have been a problem, or maybe the gentleman started too ambitiously. I believed Teena Hicks started small and built up over the years.

Meanwhile, Firefly over in Bricktown seems to be doing just fine. Great selection of trendy clothing oriented towards young women at affordable prices.
