Bonus: Maywood Hall
Ron Bradshaw has yet another project ready to move once he gets the ball rolling on The Leslie (see today’s story). Ladies and gentleman, the above image is for Maywood Hall which Bradshaw hopes to build at NE 2 and Walnut.

Kris, thats exactly what I thought. This looks eerily familiar to a dorm I saw over at Southern Nazarene. I seriously doubt this concept gets approved by the design committee.
I’m all for more-affordable housing downtown. Good for the developers, investing housing these days. They’re on the right track with this kind of stuff, and I’m sure they’ll sell it out.
But, yeah, as for the architecture? The design does seem a little lazy and institutional.
I’ve seen Maywood Hall before- but do you have any renderings of the Leslie which I hadn’t even heard of? Is it going to be a townhome-type or loft type thing?
Yea, I’d like to see renderings for the Leslie.
Maywood Hall looks nice. I don’t like the color scheme but that could be changed. Its like 70’s colors. Wood Paneling and Green Carpet Color Scheme! :]
I agree, OKC should not build projects that look like the 70’s, but the building designs should be improved to reflect a 2008 look. Check out the Foresite Development projects in Dallas at http://www.foresitedev.com and see what is possible with great designs. I think this is what needs to be in downtown OKC.

Makes me actually think about moving. But, as my wife just commented, how big will they be?
