Regional Impact

The boys at www.thelostogle.com bring us this latest tidbit – the Wichita, Kansas newspaper has created a Thunder section. Though the enthusiasm for such a beat is bit mixed in the first column, it still goes to show that the impact of the NBA’s arrival goes far beyond city limits.

Does this make Oklahoma City a regional city? Was it a regional city all along and we just never knew? Or am I the only one a bit surprised by all this?

Doubtless you noticed this thread … at the best Thunder Board in Okc which discussed the same thing … beginning on October 26. I started it. Be there, or be square! {grin}

Let it be known that Doug has officially taken on The Lost Ogle on dibbs for scooping this news item. May God have mercy on Doug’s soul should The Lost Ogle decide to take him on.
(At this point Steve ducks).

Having lived in Wichita, KS for 3 years I can say that I’m not surprised by this. I know several people up there that already said they would most likely attend a game or two. There just not much NBA up that direction so it would be possible we could have a strong allegiance up there. Would help expand our TV market and games if Clay decided to branch out into the regional area. I know they have a new arena almost completed, or might be already I don’t know, could play a preseason game there also.
