What Paige is referring to is good old boy Randy Hogan’s joke of a development that said opening Summer 08(actually I think it says July 08). Only Randy hasn’t even broke ground yet. I thought Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar was supposed to be opening up in that “building” about now. His “vision” was originally a one story building and then changed it to a two story. Hey Hogan, how about let’s get a real vision and build a 3-4 floors minimum and not use EIFS please. Let’s not build crap we’re going to be tearing down in 20 years like say the theatre and the Sonic/Falcone’s building. Prime canal facing land given in Lower Bricktown and look what has become of it.
At least this hotel is going to be mostly brick, 9 stories, and urban infill on what was a parking lot. It should be open by January. Now Bass Pro or Lower Bricktown on the other hand………….well they belong on Memorial Rd. or I-240.
Cameron, I agree. Actually, to be just a few months behind on a downtown project is actually pretty good these days. Most projects are easily running a year or more behind due to various complications.
How ANYBODY could criticize anything Hogan has done is still beyond me. I’d rather have buildings on the canal, condos and a great movie theater that actually has been built by Hogan than all the dreams of the cotton exchange, blah blah blah that get talked about and never happen on the north side. Folks, there would be no vibrancy in bricktown if it wasn’t for Hogans development. You can complain about it all you want but the fact is Hogans stuff actually exists. Why don’t all you hogan bashers go eat dinner at a NEW restaurant in upper bricktown and then go have a drink in the cotton exchange building. Meanwhile, I’m going to see the new James Bond movie at Harkins then have some coffee at Starbucks. I think I’m the one that will actually have something to do in Bricktown.

So is the development between Toby Keith’s and Earl’s….opening Summer 08. There’s only a empty lot.
