The folks at the Edmond shop say the downtown location will be open this month. I will soon have a new favorite downtown lunch spot.

I live in the legacy and I highly doubt that it will be open this month. They haven’t even started construction, and I saw a notice on their door that said they failed with their electric permit.

Mike, I’m with you. I’ll believe it when I see it. This Legacy Arts has been a total Urban Renewal joke from the beginning. Gave the developer YEARS of extensions to start the project, watered the plans down when finally starting construction several years later (on which his previous plans got him the bid/land). And then builds a stucco type structure on prime downtown land, gets financial incentives to build there, and then bails out and sells the property before it’s completed and the retail still hasn’t come to fruition as promised.

I’d like to correct my first post. In that post, I said that I saw a sticker on Hobby’s Hoagies door that said they failed their electrical permit. This is incorrect. I went by today and I saw the stick on Comet Cleaner’s door, not Hobby’s Hoagies. With that said, I still highly doubt they’ll be open this month. They have a long ways to go. I’m predicting an opening in January\February.

Is there ANY WAY AT ALL that we can get them to change those cheap ole overhang signs? OMG, how cheap and pathetic, it really downgrades the Legacy by having such cheap looking retail. They could have and should have had much better sign awnings, instead of it looking like glorified tarps. Come on now, how did the city let this happen……..

I agree about the signs at Legacy. Unfortunately, we did not have any say on the type of signs that we were allowed to have. Mike, I hope you are wrong on the Jan/Feb opening we are shooting for the first week of November if not a few days before. I think our new location will be great for everyone living and working in the area. I know our food is awesome. HR, maybe you get everyone to call in and complain about the signs and maybe mgmt. will let us have some flexibility and creativity on what we can do. I look forward to seeing you all downtown.
