PBC definitely didn’t put much money into the marketing and PR staff! Talk about not living up to expectations. I’ll still support the team, but won’t be buying anything other than tickets unless they get rid of that hideous logo and colors. The name is mediocre.

Do you really think that those who have drooled over having an NBA team in OKC would be so petty, after having gotten one, as to do a 180 degree turnaround just because they don’t like (1) the team name and/or (2) its colors? Sorry, but that kind of thinking is outrageously in a space which is not located in Oklahoma City.

Disagree? Come October through the 1st season, 41 regular season games + 1 preseason, do you REALLY think that most of those games are not going to be sellouts?

Your rhetoric was not the way it was, at least for me and I was there, also. From your comment, it sounds like you’ve got some sort of personal agenda issues driving the objectivity of your reporting. In my recollection, even though the event was anti-climatic since the name “Thunder” was the well-expected team name, as it turned out to be, there was never a time in this event that “the momentum was lost,” regardless of your attempted cleverness in dropping sexy names and phrases. There was never a time that the crowd was anything other than hotly enthusiastic.

The reax to the logo is mixed, but I wouldn’t say it’s deflated enthusiasm for the team. I can’t imagine what it must be like trying to get a pulse of the local mood halfway across the world. Overall, it seems like most people I’ve met really like the name, but are luke warm to the logo.

What a squandered opportunity to spread an infectious vision! I’m glad the NBA is here – it’s an exciting time to be in this City – but, to this point, I’m not much more than bemused by the way this piece of our history has unfolded.

There’s nothing about that design that says “Thunder” to me. I saw far better logos made by fans on sports blogs. What a shame. I hope the uniforms look alright. That orange, blue and yellow color scheme doesn’t do anything for me, though.

I hope ol’ Clay gets an earful of “Duh”s after he makes the announcement.

Then again, all of this could be an intricate misinformation campaign, and Bennett could surprise us with something completely different. Yeah, right.
