I Don't Do Party Pics … But …

oklahoma-today.jpgI guess it’s no big deal to share some shots I took last night during the debut party for Oklahoma Today’s all OKC issue at the new Iguana Mexican Grill at NW 9 and Broadway.

Have fun and spot the downtown players … my spottings included Greg Banta visiting with Mickey Clagg (now that’s a discussion I’d like to listen in on), Bert Belanger, who was accompanied by a Houston apartment developer (just visiting, I’m sure), Chris and Meg Salyer, who I’ll bet are simply bewildered by the idea that Steve Mason has taken properties on the verge of collapse and spent millions to bring them back to life (this inside joke is a test on how much you know about the history of Automobile Alley), architect Rand Elliott and his wife Jeanette (still waiting to see what Kerr Park will look like), MidTown’s Arturo Chavez (quit following me!), the usual gang from Downtown Oklahoma City Inc., Skirvin Hilton General Manager John Williams, that crazy river guy Pat Downes, and many more.

Final note: Ah… free food and drink. Sure fire way to get a reporter in the room. This issue of Oklahoma Today is really impressive – it’s a nice recap of what’s going on downtown and throughout the city.

This was an amazing party! Oklahoma Today Magazine really went all out both on the special OKC issue (out now) and the launch party. This truly is an exciting time to live in OKC!

Sorry I missed the party. Sounds like it turned out well though. Good times in OKC ahead! Your Burt Belanger/Houston developer comment intrigues me. I wonder if ole Burt has some affordable housing on the way.

Thanks to all who came out to the Iguana last night. The Oklahoma Today staff had a blast. It was very inspiring to see the pillars of the community, both young and old, coming together and having a good time. The enthusiasm for OKC’s future was palpable.

Rock-n-roll, fellers. It was a great scene. DJ Mooneyham always provides the right tunes. Robert Painter, Ryan Parrot, Steve Mason….perfect hosts. We also saw Kirk Humphreys, artist Romy Owens, Doug Raymond, my favorite husband Chad Elmore, realtor Shannon Rundell, Steffie and Megan and Jake and Kassy (who looked fabulous each and are the best editors in the biz), the new editors of the Cowboy Hall’s magazine, Bob Howard, DeeDee Devore, cover artist Clint Stone and his beautiful wife Shannon and spitting-image son, artist and legal eagle Ryan Cunningham, Oklahoma’s best photographers Kim Baker/John Jernigan/Yousef Khanfar/ Bob Lindsey, Art and Beth Rutledge and cutie offspring, dreamy Lip Michelle Coyne, magical Vicki Banta, where does it end….Thanks, all. We love you.

Imagine if everyone in that roomed joined powers!

We have a lot of talented people.

Belanger and Houston apartment developer wins from intriguing development standpoint. More likely that we’ll see residential at his new property then…
