In the meantime, here’s a question for you: what would be the best downtown area site for a practice arena for the NBA?

On the East edge of bricktown, south of the Hill, near Lincoln. There are a dozen locations. The corner of 4th and Lincoln (leaving room for the inevitable OU health sciences expansion) could work.
Alternatively, somewhere on the River downtown. Near the boathouses? Near Dell? All of those locations could work well.

This area is still close to downtown and would benefit from the investment.
We really should not be looking to build large-block, single-story facilities in any part of the city that we want to be urban mixed-use. A block like that could stymie development and detract from the current and future vitality of the area. For the same reason I would say no to anything on the river adjacent to core2shore and downtown.

Agreed, David- it needs to be far on the fringe if it’s in the inner city. Definitely toward the east or west sides of downtown or south of the river. I don’t want to break up anything inside 235, 13th, Classen, and the River with a big probably boring and mundane facility. The practice facility would have little impact on downtown, if it was there, in my opinion.
