News from Downtown OKC: Blues will fill the Downtown spring air today as the fourth season of SoundBites in the Park kicks off! The critically acclaimed blues band The Snakeshakers take the stage to entertain downtowners on their lunch break from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The Snakeshakers Roadhouse Rock’n Blues Band has been down the road, faced their devils and come out on the other side baptized in their own version of the Blues.
The Snakeshakers have not sold out to cheap imitations of the music they love. Rather, they have embraced its roots, been shaped by it…and shaped it, in turn. Their brand of Blues is a Rock ‘n Blues style that resonates with people everywhere and every age.
Recently, the SnakeShakers won the 2007 Oklahoma Blues Society Regional Competition for the International Blues Challenge, as part of a worldwide search for the best unsigned blues band.
SoundBites concerts happen Fridays in April, May and June in Couch Park, located between Broadway and Robinson at Robert S. Kerr, adjacent to Kerr Park.
