NAHB: Builder confidence rises 5 points in May

Builder confidence in the market for newly built, single-family homes gained five points in May from a downwardly revised reading in the previous month to reach a level of 29 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI), released today. This is the index’s strongest reading since May of 2007.

We’re busier than we’ve been (both unity volume and dollar volume) since 2006. In fact, we’re on a 2-month delayed start construction schedule…which is basically a waiting list, as I’m keeping my staffing level the same and queuing the starts to maintain consistency and pace. I’m hearing plenty of similar comments from other local builders.

Seems like I’ve seen you move one a week the past several weeks. :-) (Anything $200,000 and over, I see).
