I've read that a the skewed proportions of a baby's face creates a hormonal response in humans...kinda like the "aahhhh cuuutttee.." response most women (and some guys) have around puppies. I'm normally very stand-offish and not very touchy/feely until I see a baby. Strangest thing. I just stop caring about my personal space and immediately want to protect it.
