Wonderful article. It is painfully obvious that there are not enough organ donors out there. There is one rumor that I have heard that I would like to see examined more thoroughly. That rumor is that a donor's organs may not end up going to a sick person and may end up being used for medical testing, and that this is done without the notification or consent of the family. Is this true? I am an organ donor but I know when I die I want my organs to go into a sick person's body, not go into a lab.

Thank you Mr. Raymond, for pointing out what is apparently not the obvious: that the fact of saving other lives when you lose someone you love does not have to be amped up. You've stepped up, people who might have been among the 18 who are dead by the end of the day are not--where's the call for more drama?
Perhaps it's the lingering effects of the movie Titanic in which, clearly, it was not enough for the unsinkable ship to go down with hundreds of lives...Hollywood wanted a gun fight too.
Thanks for your sane words.
