Oklahoma City is manly

Cool story that came out this morning - Oklahoma City is the third manliest city in the United States.

By this afternoon, it has been elevated to our No. 1 spot on the Web site. We made that decision because we’ve had a good amount of traffic and comments on that story.

Funny thing is, some think we should be higher than No. 3.

One observer stuck his head in my office after seeing the headline as said, “We’d have been No. 1 if it wasn’t for all that Twittering you guys are doing.”

It’s true. It probably hurt. It’s hard to Twitter while you’re eating a plate of ribs.

But it’s worth giving up a spot on the manly countdown if you can follow NewsOK on Twitter and stay up to date on everything that’s going on.

A visit with Henry Bellmon

It’s amazing the cool things you can find on NewsOK.com – especially if your looking deep into the site, especially on a Monday morning.

Take our story on former Gov. Henry Bellmon, for example.

It was on Page 6-A of The Oklahoman on Sunday.

It was on the home page of NewsOK.com Sunday morning.

But the video can only be found on NewsOK.com. And that’s how the story about former Gov. Henry Bellmon hit home for me.

Veteran reporter Bryan Painter did a great job telling the story with the written word.

He also did a great job with his video interview.
