Ms. Marvel to become Captain Marvel in new comics series
There’s a new Captain Marvel coming to the pages of Marvel Comics.
As revealed at the recent Wondercon in Anaheim, Calif., the hero Carol Danvers, formerly known as Ms. Marvel, will take on the legacy of Captain Marvel in a new ongoing series by writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Dexter Soy. Marvel Comics’ original Captain Marvel was created in 1967 and died in “The Death of Captain Marvel” graphic novel in 1984. Five others have been called “Captain Marvel” since, but now one of Marvel’s longstanding female heroes will take over the name.
Scarlet Spider #4 preview from Marvel
One of Marvel’s most buzzed-about books from the first quarter of 2012 has been “Scarlet Spider,” by the creative team of Christopher Yost and Ryan Stegman. The ruthless Assassins Guild has arrived in Houston with one objective- take down the Scarlet Spider at any cost! Will Kaine’s super-human abilities be enough to outwit the band of murderous assassins gunning for his head? New “Castle” graphic novel set for October release
Marvel Entertainment and ABC Studios recently announced a new graphic novel inspired by the “Castle” television series.
“Castle: Richard Castle’s Storm Season” is a 112-page hardcover graphic novel inspired by the popular “Castle” television series. This 112 page hardcover will star the Derrick Storm character, who is a fictional character created by the author Richard Castle — himself a fictional TV character played by Nathan Fillion. The graphic novel will go on sale Oct. 17.
Here’s how Marvel describes the graphic novel:
Private Investigator Derrick Storm is hired to bug the hotel suite of an African head of state, but this routine mission quickly spirals out of control when Storm overhears a woman’s terrifying scream on the wire. Plagued by the victim’s helpless cry, Storm—despite an ominous warning—investigates the truth. Soon he’ll discover an international conspiracy reaching further than he ever imagined…and perhaps the truth about Clara Strike, a CIA Agent the world thinks is dead.
Brian Michael Bendis and Kelly Sue DeConnick are the writers of the graphic novel. Emanuela Lupacchino is the artist.
This is the second “Castle” original graphic novel to be released through a collaborative effort between Marvel, ABC Studios and the producers of “Castle,” following the 2011 release “Castle: Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm.”
“Marvel has done an amazing job of bringing Derrick Storm to a new audience and we’re thrilled to keep the magic going with this next graphic novel.” said Andrew W. Marlowe, “Castle” creator/executive producer in a news release. “Fans can look forward to another fantastic adventure, filled with page-turning excitement. Storm Season is Richard Castle at his finest.”

Danny Ketch version of “Ghost Rider” sold millions
Film fans know the Ghost Rider as Johnny Blaze, the stunt rider who makes a deal with Mephisto to save his father from cancer. He’s tricked by Mephisto, however, into becoming the spirit of vengeance, Ghost Rider. Nicolas Cage plays Johnny Blaze in “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” now in theaters.
But the most popular run of Ghost Rider comics actually featured another Rider: Danny Ketch, who became the Ghost Rider when he touched a medallion on a motorcycle he found.
Second trailer for “The Avengers” is online
Marvel Studios has released a second trailer for “The Avengers,” which will be released on May 4. The
superhero film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo portrays Bruce Banner, aka Hulk; Jeremy Renner plays Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson stars as Black Widow. Joss Whedon directs the film.
The film is a sequel to all the Marvel Studios films released so far, tying together elements from Iron Man 1 and 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. (Though there’s a new Hulk, it will also likely connect with the Edward Norton Hulk film.)
Tom Hiddleston returns as the villainous Loki.
