The device doesn’t look at all like an ear trumpet, and the way the woman talks and holds it makes her look exactly like a modern person talking on a cell phone. Also she doesn’t appear to be calling to the man, in my opinion. I suppose some sort of explanation will come out eventually, eh?

(I kind of hope it is a time traveler, though – what a day to be alive, right? The day they discovered the time traveler. THERE’S a story for the grandkids.)
